Scattered showers are expected early Sunday morning in Kansas City before the rest of the day remains cloudy and cooler, according to the National Weather Service.

While isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible, the chance for rain grows slimmer through the day, according to the forecast. Rain is most likely before 1 p.m.

Heavy rain is possible southeast of Kansas City, meteorologists said in a Sunday forecast discussion.

The high temperature Sunday is expected to be near 85 degrees, cooler for the season, according to the weather service.

Sunday night will be clear with a low temperature near 69 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday will both be dry days with some cloud cover, but mostly sunny, the forecast shows. High temperatures Monday and Tuesday are expected to be near 90 degrees.

Then, chances of rain return Wednesday through Friday, meteorologists said.
