Visibility may be reduced for drivers, particularly along and south of Interstate 70 during the morning commute, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City.
The fog will dissipate by mid-morning, when a weak weather system will bring showers and storms on and off throughout the day, the forecast shows.
While some storms could strengthen, the risk for severe weather is low, according to the weather service.
The high is likely to be near 72 degrees on Thursday. The greatest chance for rain, 40%, is in the afternoon, according to the forecast.
Cold air coming into the region Friday will bring another weak weather system, meteorologists said Thursday. Strong storms are unlikely on Friday, but heavy rain and small hail can’t be ruled out, according to the forecast.
The high temperature is forecast to be near 66 degrees on Friday.
