Warmer than usual weather lingers in Kansas City. Here’s when thunderstorms are possible
Warmer than usual temperatures are expected in Kansas City this week as showers and thunderstorms hint at a possible return, according to the National Weather Service.
Dry weather is expected for the start of the workweek and temperatures will climb into the mid-60s on Monday. Kansas City typically sees a temperature of 59 degrees this time of year.
Temperatures will climb to around 70 degrees on Tuesday before dipping to 67 degrees on Wednesday. The rest of the workweek will be warmer with temps in the mid-70s.
Showers, thunderstorms in Kansas City’s forecast
Chances for showers and thunderstorms return Thursday, with the weather service saying the threat of severe weather is low.
There is a 30-40% chance of a trace of rainfall, increasing to 40-50% early Friday morning.
Rain chances return this weekend.
“It appears the better chance of rain will be on Sunday,” the weather service said.
Temperatures will be in the mid-70s on Saturday, but a cool down beginning on Sunday will send temperatures back to seasonal averages for early next week.
