Midweek storms to break up warm, dry week in Kansas City. How much rain is coming?
Midweek storms will break up a dry, warmer-than-usual week in Kansas City, the National Weather Service said.
Beginning on Veterans Day, temperatures will be in the low to mid-60s this week, with sunny skies for the most part. The weather will be up to 10 degrees warmer than average. Typically, Kansas City sees temperatures in the mid-50s at this time of year.
Overnight temperatures will dip into the upper 30s on Monday and the upper 40s on Tuesday.
For the first half of the week, the weather will be dry.
Rain on the way
“Rain chances return late Tuesday night into Wednesday, with only modest rainfall accumulations likely,” the weather service said in its forecast discussion. Generally, less than a quarter of an inch of rain is expected.
Scattered showers are expected Wednesday, but showers will likely end by mid- to late afternoon.
Overnight temperatures fall back to the upper 30s.
Warm, dry weather to persist into weekend
A warming trend begins Thursday and continues into the weekend.
Temperatures will be in the low 60s on Thursday and the mid-60s on Friday and Saturday.
The weather service said that more clouds and wind will return on Saturday as another weather system approaches.
A cold front will move into the area on Sunday and “will reintroduce rain chances for our region for Sunday into Sunday night,” the weather service said.
