How much rain did Kansas City get in overnight storms? See totals for your area
Storms blew through the Kansas City area Wednesday night and into early Thursday, bringing strong winds and rain. Here is how much rain your part of the metro got overnight.
Winds up to 80 mph caused power outages across the metro.
As of 6:15 a.m. Thursday, 27,000 Kansas City area customers were without power, according to energy companies. That included approximately 21,000 with Evergy, 1,840 with Kansas City, Kansas’ Board of Public Utilities and 4,000 from Independence Power & Light.
Temperatures Thursday are expected to rise to the mid 90s but it’ll feel like 105 degrees. The NWS called this “one final day of dangerous heat” before a weak cold front moves in Friday and Saturday.

0.45 inches: Blue Springs
0.39 inches: Kansas City’s Downtown Airport
0.37 inches: Olathe’s Johnson County Executive Airport
0.29 inches: Smithville Lake
0.28 inches: Lee’s Summit
0.24 inches: Raymore
Since Jan. 1, the Kansas City area has received between 22 and 24 inches of precipitation, which is on pace with the NWS’s predictions for the year.
