For second year, Chiefs fans lit up weather radar with Super Bowl fireworks celebration
For the second year in a row, Chiefs fan lit up the skies with fireworks following a Kansas City victory at Super Bowl LVIII.
After the Chiefs 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers, fans across the Kansas City metro area set off fireworks for at least 30 minutes.
The celebration was powerful enough to once again show up on radars for the National Weather Service, which shared a video of the radar on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Something is showing up on our radar for the 2nd year in a row,” the weather service wrote. “And it’s definitely not rain...”
Super Bowl celebrations will continue this week as the Chiefs hold a victory parade down Grand Boulevard Wednesday, followed by a rally in front of Union Station.
After their win against the 49ers, the Chiefs became the first back-to-back Super Bowl champions in almost two decades.
