The first major winter storm of 2024 is coming to an end across the Kansas City area, leaving behind several inches of snow as well as hazardous roads, strong winds and bitterly cold temperatures.
Preliminary snowfall totals show much of the Kansas City area received between 4 and 6 inches of snow from the storm, according a map of an analysis of local storm reports.

Some areas saw more, including Raymore in Cass County, where a member of the public measured 9 inches of snow, according to the weather service.
Some of the higher amounts included an estimated 8 inches in Trenton, Missouri, 6 inches in Paola, Kansas, and 5 inches at Lake Waukomis.
