Humidity will make it feel like 100+ degrees in Kansas City area Wednesday
Hot, muggy condiitions are expected Wednesday throughout the Kansas City metro area, according to the National Weather Service.
Throughout the day, high temperatures will stay within the low 90s, but humidity in the afternoon will make temperatures feel hotter -- between 100 and 103 degrees.
The possibility for rain and thunderstorms remains low. Meteorologists said there may be isolated showers or thunderstorms for several hours in the afternoon.
The National Weather Service recommends anyone who needs to work outside have a shady place to take breaks from the heat. Residents should stay hydrated and check on anyone who doesn’t have access to air conditioning or may be more affected by the heat.
High temperatures will continue Thursday, with highs again expected to reach the low 90s. However, lower humidity levels mean it should feel slightly cooler.
By the end of the week, temperatures are expected to cool and reach the low to mid-80s.
