Another severe thunderstorm could hit the Kansas City area Tuesday, with the potential for damaging winds and large hail, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms during Tuesday’s morning commute are expected to be sub-severe, producing some strong winds and hail, but could increase in intensity.

Meteorologists are tracking additional activity moving southeast from Nebraska that could bring more severe weather to the metro area, including strong gusts and larger, damaging hail.

The National Weather Service said the forecast is uncertain and that Kansas Citians should keep an eye on the sky and heed warnings if they need to go out.

In the summer, weather conditions can change rapidly, and Kansas Citians should make plans knowing that storms could become severe quickly, the weather service said.
