Off-and-on showers are expected to continue into the afternoon leading to a mostly damp and cool Friday in the Kansas City area, according to the National Weather Service.

Up to .25 of an inch of rain is possible with some areas seeing higher rainfall totals, according to the weather service.

“Should be just enough rain to get the ground good and wet,” the weather service said on Twitter.

Conditions will be warmer on Saturday, with temperatures climbing slightly above normal into the low to mid-80s. The normal temperature for this time of year in Kansas City is the mid- to upper 70s.

A cold front that is expected to move through on Saturday will bring cooler and drier air that will settle into the metro area for the remainder of the weekend and into next week, the weather service said in its forecast discussion.

“Expect comfortable, seasonal conditions Sunday through most of next week,” the weather service said.
