Easter Sunday in KC will be exceptionally frigid as temps drop, rain rolls in mid-day
Grab a winter coat and umbrella before heading out to any Easter egg hunts this year.
Easter Sunday feels less like spring and more like winter this year in Kansas City as temperatures steadily dip down into the 30s by the afternoon and rain blankets the metro.
Storms are expected to roll in from about 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, with an 80% chance of rain for Kansas City, according to the National Weather Service. Wind gusts could reach 20 miles an hour.
Overnight, the low temperatures will land just a couple degrees above freezing.
After a brisk Sunday, the metro weather will steadily warm up over the rest of the week, with highs in the 50s Monday and Tuesday before reaching back into the 70s Wednesday and Thursday. The weather will likely warm to nearly 80 by the weekend.
But before a return to normal springtime temperatures later this week, a slight chance of snow will first make an appearance in the forecast Tuesday morning as the low dips down to about 32 degrees.
