Has your school canceled classes as latest winter storm hits Kansas City? Check here

Several Kansas City area districts have canceled classes or switched to remote learning after a winter storm left a few inches of snowfall Wednesday and bitterly cold temperatures were expected Thursday.

Here is a list of area public school districts affected, in alphabetical order:

Belton

All in-person classes are canceled Feb. 3. No school is scheduled Feb. 4 because of a staff in-service day.

Blue Springs

Students will stay home and learn remotely on Feb. 3.

Blue Valley

All schools will be closed Feb. 3.

Center

District buildings are closed Feb. 3.

De Soto

School is closed Feb. 3. Facility rentals are canceled as all district buildings will be shut down. The Test to Stay COVID testing site will be also closed.

Fort Osage

No students will report to school on Feb. 3. The district is following its at-home learning plan, which includes virtual learning. Fort Discovery is open at Blue Hills Elementary from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Grandview

Students will not report to school on Feb. 3. Remote learning will be conducted. Central Office is open starting at 10 a.m.

Hickman Mills

Students and staff will not report to school on Feb. 3. Virtual learning will be administered.

Holden

School is canceled Feb. 3 and Feb. 4. Eagles Nest and Day Plus will be open Feb. 4.

Independence

School is canceled on Feb. 3. Early Education is also canceled. Kids Safari is available at combined sites.

Kansas City Public Schools

Schools are closed on Feb. 3.

Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools

Schools are closed Feb. 3. Public libraries are open starting at 12 p.m.

Lee’s Summit

Students will not report to school buildings on Feb. 3. Before-and-after school programs are also closed. Virtual classes will be held.

North Kansas City

There is a 45-minute late start Feb. 3 affecting all K-12 schools.

Olathe

School district buildings are closed Feb. 3. The MAWD COVID-19 testing site is also closed. Facility rental will be available. A 6 p.m. meeting of the Board of Education will be held as scheduled.

Ray-Pec

School buildings are closed to students on Feb. 3. Virtual classes will be held.

Raytown

Schools are closed Feb. 3 and no virtual learning will be conducted. The Raytown Schools Wellness Center will open at 10 a.m.

Shawnee Mission

Students will not report to school Feb. 3. Remote learning will not be conducted. Conferences are canceled and will be rescheduled.

Spring Hill

No classes will be held Feb. 3.

Turner

School is canceled Feb. 3. In-person learning is expected to resume Feb. 4.

Warrensburg

Schools are closed Feb. 3 and Feb. 4. No virtual learning will be conducted. Adventure Club is also canceled.
