Enjoy the heat Saturday. It could be the end of summer-like weather in Kansas City
Temperatures could rise into the 90s on Saturday for what might be the “last summer like day” the Kansas City area will see this year.
“Much of next week is going to be fall-like,” said FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee in a weather update for The Star.
Saturday, Countee said, is expected to be sunny and warm with a high temperature of 90 degrees.
After Saturday, he said, rain will move into the Kansas City area on Sunday.
Around 4 or 5 in the afternoon, Countee said, thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds will move into the area.
Those storms are expected to be followed by cooler weather during the work week.
Starting Monday, temperatures are not expected to rise above the 60s or low 70s, Countee said. Early morning lows may drop into the 40s.
