‘Another beautiful day’: Sunday brings more sun to Kansas City as summer wanes

As fall officially kicks off this week, Kansas City is in for more warm, sunny weather, according to the National Weather Service.

“Another beautiful day is on tap for your Sunday, although it will be a bit warmer today with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s,” the weather service tweeted. “Temperatures fall back to the low to mid 50s again overnight tonight.”

Expect more of the same through at least the next week as afternoon temperatures range in the high 70s to low 80s and overnight temperatures drop into the high 50s.

The warmest days this coming week are expected Friday and Saturday, with highs of 83 in the forecast, according to the weather service. Wednesday, which comes on the heels of the first day of autumn, will be the coolest day this week with a high of 77.

No rain is in the forecast through at least Saturday as the days stay sunny and clear, aside from continued wildfire smoke making its way over the region.

Smoke from the wildfires out west will continue causing hazy conditions and minor impacts to air quality through at least the early part of the coming week, according to the weather service.
