Rain is possible Tuesday through Thursday as temperatures take a dramatic dip. Wednesday, expected to be the coldest day this week, may even set a new record.

“Occasionally records are broken. And, a few of them may fall this week. However, what is looking like a certainty is that record for coldest high on Wed Sept 9th is going to be shattered!” the weather service tweeted.

The record high for Sept. 9 was recorded in 1907, at 66 degrees, according to the weather service. The current Wednesday forecast predicts a high of 54, which would break the record by 12 degrees.

Tuesday and Thursday are looking at highs in the mid-to-low 60s, with the greatest chance of rain Tuesday.

The forecast is slightly warmer come next weekend. Friday’s high is expected to be in the upper 60s and Saturday’s in the low 70s.
