After warm holiday weekend, a cold front could bring rain. Here’s when it will hit
After above average temperatures over Labor Day weekend, the weather in the Kansas City area will begin to feel more fall-like after a cold front moves through the area.
“That’s what we’re going to be stuck in until our pattern changes,” said FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank in a weather update for The Star.
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday high temperatures are expected to be above average for this time of the year, in the low 90s and mid 80s, Frank said.
Starting Monday night, however, a cold front is expecting to roll into the Kansas City area, bringing rain and cooler temperatures with it.
Temperatures, Frank said, could drop by as much as 35 degrees.
Rain is expected to persist on Tuesday and Wednesday with 1.5 to 2 inches falling by the end of the week. High temperatures are forecast to be in the 50s throughout the work week, Frank said.
