Hot, dry conditions expected in Kansas City this Labor Day holiday weekend
Pleasant weather conditions are expected in Kansas City as the metro area heads into a hot, dry Labor Day weekend, said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“As we go through the day today, we’re going to be talking about some really comfortable conditions,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “Lots of sunshine. Highs are going to be in the lower 80s.”
Humidity will also be low, she said. High pollen and mold counts are the only negative, she said.
Highs this weekend, however, are expected warm back up and reach into the lower 90s.
“Rain chances are pretty much nonexistent for Saturday, Sunday and most of Monday,” Ritter said. “But Monday night into Tuesday, that’s when the change arrives to our forecast.”
The chance for rain and thunderstorms returns overnight Monday, bringing widespread showers on Tuesday, she said.
“I know Tuesday is the first day of school and your back-to-school pictures for a lot of kids may include quite a bit of rain gear,” Ritter said. “It will be cooler as well.”
Highs are expected to be in the low 70s Tuesday and in the 60s Wednesday and Thursday.
