After fog, Kansas City will see sunshine and highs in the mid-80s

After the morning fog, Kansas City will enter a stretch of several days of quiet weather conditions on Wednesday leading into the Labor Day holiday weekend, said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.

“Later on today we are expecting our temperature to climb back up into the middle 80s after we get rid of the fog this morning,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “And it’s dense fog. that’s impacting parts of our viewing area.”

Sunshine will replace the fog, allowing temperatures to return to the mid-80s, which is typical for this time of year, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City.

“We have a quiet stretch of weather for the next four days,” Ritter said. “So settling into the first half of our upcoming holiday weekend looks fantastic. We are going to see a lot of sunshine, but it’s going to get hot again.”

The next round of storms is expected Sunday night into Monday, which will usher in much cooler temperatures.

Highs on Labor Day are expected be in the mid-70s while temps will struggle to reach the upper 60s on Tuesday, Ritter said.
