‘No 90s for the next seven days.’ Temps cool off in Kansas City with rainy days ahead

With the exception of Sunday, the next few days will be very wet across the Kansas City metro, according to FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee.

“This afternoon, we’re still holding onto clouds and possibly some thunderstorms, but that’s mainly going to be well south of Kansas City,” said Countee, who provides weather updates to The Star.

While Saturday morning’s storms will likely clear out of Kansas City by the early afternoon, Linn County in Kansas and Bates, Henry and Benton counties in Missouri will probably see rainfall until 4 or 5 p.m. Saturday, he said.

Sunday will be the only break from the rain through early next week.

“Come Monday and Tuesday though, that’s when we’re going to see more rain come back into the area, especially Tuesday, for the first half of the day,” Countee said.

The temperatures will stay cooler over the next week.

Saturday will likely warm up into the mid-70s, with Sunday’s high temperature closer to 80.

“Wednesday and Thursday we’re warming back up, but all-in-all, you notice no 90s for the next seven days,” Countee said.

As of now, Labor Day weekend will likely stay cool and dry. The holiday weekend kicks off with a Friday afternoon high in the 70s.

“You can see a much cooler pattern here in Kansas City, much-needed rainfall as well and we’ll be watching out for those additional rain chances early next week over the next couple of days,” Countee said.
