Hot conditions this week in Kansas City; rain possible east of metro later this week

It’ll be a hot work week in Kansas City as highs will settle in the 90s, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.

“It’s not going to be terribly oppressive outside because we still have dew points only in the 60s,” similar to Sunday, said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “So almost a carbon copy of your Sunday forecast.”

Highs on Monday are expected to the low to mid-90s, she said. Meanwhile, the pollen count will be in the moderate to high categories.

It’s expected to be dry Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Ritter said. But the chance for rain returns to the Kansas City area, especially to the Missouri side of the metro.

“South and east is where we will have the best chance for rain for the second half of the week, but not everybody will see the rain including here in Kansas City,” Ritter said. “We may completely miss out.”

There’s a chance of rain again Saturday as highs cool into the low to mid-80s.
