Temps to stay in the 90s this week in Kansas City ahead of cooler weekend weather
Monday will be another hot day in the Kansas City metro, said FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.
“Ninety-five (degrees) should be the hottest that we’ve seen all year long,” Frank, who provides weather updates to The Star, said of Tuesday’s forecast, which is expected to be one degree hotter than the day prior.
“And then not only do we have some tropical moisture, but a front arrives, and we’ll have to watch for some very heavy rain by next week after a very dry period to start the week,” he said of the metro weather later in the week.
The daytime highs will continue reaching into the mid-90s through Wednesday as the sky stays mostly sunny and the heat hangs around.
“We’ve hit 93 this afternoon in KC ... making it the warmest day of August thus far and, that is only one degree off from the highest temperature of the entire summer,” the National Weather Service tweeted Sunday evening.
Some rain is possible Thursday, with a greater chance of storms on Friday and Saturday, Frank said.
The overnight temperatures will stay into the low 70s through the end of the workweek. The daytime temps are expected to cool off into the low 80s by the weekend, Frank said.
