Cooler temperatures will soon be replaced by usual August heat in Kansas City

The temperatures the next few days in Kansas City will remain below average for August, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria. But the relief from the heat won’t last long.

“The humidity levels will stay pretty low for the next several days, but the temperatures will be creeping up so that by Saturday, we could be back up to where we should be for this time of year, which is the upper 80s,” said Lauria, who provides weather updates for The Star.

Wednesday’s overnight low will be in the upper 50s, with a high of 84 on Thursday. The wind should be calm.

The high temperatures will likely remain in the mid-to-upper 80s through Monday, Lauria said. On Tuesday, the temperatures are expected to reach the 90s again.

“Upper 80s, even with low humidity, that’ll still be pretty warm out there,” he added.

There is also a “very iffy chance” of showers Saturday night or Sunday morning, Lauria said.

“Some of you might get a few raindrops out of this, but I don’t want you to cancel any outdoor plans, and I want you to go ahead and start watering if you want to keep the grass nice and green,” he said.
