Plenty of sunshine as Kansas City dodges heat, humidity typical for August in metro
Kansas City on Wednesday will continue to elude the heat and humidity that is typical for mid-August, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“We’re going to have plenty of sunshine today,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “Another beautiful forecast is on tap for metro.”
Afternoon highs will be around 80 degrees, which is nearly 10 degrees below average for this time of year, Ritter said. Humidity is also expected to be lower.
The average high for this time of year in Kansas City is 87 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City. The average low is 67 degrees.
“The only issue we can really find for today is the fact that the pollen count is still starting to climb,” Ritter said. “Ragweed season is beginning. We also have a higher mold count.”
It might not be ideal for those who have allergies to be outside, she said.
The rest of the week looks to be dry. There is a chance for precipitation over the weekend for some, but not everyone will see rain, Ritter said.
Temperatures, however, will return back to normal this weekend, with highs climbing into the upper 80s.
