Bright and sunny in Kansas City with cooler temperatures and lower humidity
It will be a bright and sunny day in the Kansas City area Saturday with cooler temperatures and lower humidity, according to FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee.
“Those temperatures are going to be a little bit cooler than what we would typically see in mid-August,” said Countee, who provides weather updates to The Star.
The afternoon high will be around 84 degrees with overnight lows in the lower 60s. The average high for this time of year in Kansas City is 88 degrees with the average low of 67 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Kansas City.
Although there were showers and thunderstorms that swept through parts of the metro early Saturday, the rest of the weekend will remain dry, Countee said.
Cooler temperatures will continue into the work week, with highs in the low to middle 80s and overnight lows in the lower 60s.
“As we head toward next Thursday and Friday, we may see a little uptick in the highs as they return closer to normal . . .” said Countee, who added that there’s no chances for rain in the extended forecast. “It looks like we are heading toward a dry, pleasant and cooler stretch of weather in the metro.”
