‘Soupy outside’ in Kansas City as thunderstorms, rain showers loom in the forecast
It will be another hot and humid day in the metro area Tuesday as temperatures hover near average for a summer day in Kansas City, said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“We’re expecting our temperatures to climb into the mid- and upper 80s,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “It is going to be one of those days where it feels soupy outside.”
The good news is that it will be drier as the chance for rain will be lower than it has been lately, she said.
“As we settle into this evening’s and tomorrow morning’s forecast, it looks quiet,” Ritter said. “Beyond that, we’re going to introduce a little bit more rain to the region and that is going to leave us with a little bit of a soggy finish to the week.”
While there’s a chance for rain Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms will be more likely Thursday evening into Friday morning, she said.
Temperatures for the rest of the week will remain close to the average temperature of 88 degrees for this time of year in Kansas City.
Over the weekend, temperatures will be in the upper 80s, with Sunday looking pretty nice as a cold front arrives Sunday night, cooling the metro down.
