Rain early next week could bring temporary relief from the weekend heat in Kansas City
Thursday’s high temperatures will carry over into Friday and the weekend, but rainfall early next week could give a break from the heat, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.
Temperatures on Thursday reached 92 degrees with a heat index of 105, and Lauria said to expect the same conditions Friday and Saturday. Sunday could bring hotter temperatures and a heat index at or above 105, he said in a weather report for The Star.
Rainfall and possible thunderstorms starting sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning will bring cooler temperatures to the area. There’s an 80% chance of rain in the first part of Monday, and if it continues throughout the day, Lauria said, temperatures might stay below 80 degrees.
Highs could reach 92 on Friday, 93 on Saturday, 94 on Sunday, 83 on Monday, 85 on Tuesday, 86 on Wednesday and 89 on Thursday, according to the forecast.
