Kansas City can expect rainfall starting Sunday through midweek

Kansas City residents can expect more high temperatures and a chance for rain starting Sunday and lasting through the middle of the week, according to FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee.

There’s some chance for thunder and rain in Kansas near Lawrence around 6 a.m. Sunday, but rain is more likely in the metro area starting after 4 p.m, Countee said in a weather report for The Star.

“It’s these storms that are just going to kind of meander around Kansas City and our viewing area all the way into Monday morning,” Countee said.

Storms could continue through Wednesday, he said. There is a 40% chance of rain Sunday, a 70% chance Monday, a 60% chance Tuesday and a 40% chance Wednesday, according to the forecast.

Temperatures remain high on Sunday, with the high expected to reach 95 degrees. Those numbers dip a bit on Monday and Tuesday when highs could reach 85 and 87 degrees, respectively, Countee said. But temperatures are expected to go up again for the rest of the week, with highs predicted to reach 91 on Wednesday, 92 on Thursday, 93 on Friday and 94 on Saturday.
