Hot, humid temperatures in the forecast for this weekend in the Kansas City area

The forecast for Thursday called for “typical July” weather in the Kansas City area, but conditions will get hotter this weekend, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.

Temperatures Thursday may reach 87 degrees by 4 p.m., said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. Cloud cover and a breeze will keep conditions from getting much hotter, she said.

But Friday will see a high temperature of 94 degrees and Saturday will see a high of 98.

On a humidity scale ranging from “pleasant” to “muggy,” “gross” and “brutal,” the Kansas City area will remain firmly in the “gross” category through the weekend.

“So it’s going to be pretty hot, very humid and we’re going to be talking about upper 90s for afternoon highs for Saturday and Sunday,” Ritter said.

On Monday and Tuesday, temperatures may be cooler and chances for rain return.
