Sunny Monday, then storms, and temperatures near 100 later this week in Kansas City
Monday may be one of the best days to get outside this week in Kansas City, according to a forecast by FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
“Highs are going to be in the low 90s this afternoon,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “After some morning cloud cover we’re going to clear out and we’re going to pop up into those low 90s, but the humidity won’t be terrible today.”
There’s a 30% chance of rain overnight Monday into Tuesday morning, with the best chance for precipitation north of the metro, near St. Joseph, Ritter said.
There’s also a 40% chance of rain Wednesday, which will likely be the coolest day this week with a daytime high of 87 and an overnight low of 70.
“It’s going to be a little bit different heading into the second half of the week,” Ritter said. “More heat and flirting with the 100s for the first time this season for the upcoming weekend.”
Beginning Thursday, the daytime highs will start a pattern of exceeding 95, with the hottest day predicted to be Sunday, with a high of 99.
