After a hot, humid Friday in Kansas City, storms likely to kick off the weekend
Kansas City can expect another hot and humid Friday afternoon ahead of morning thunderstorms to kick off the weekend, FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter said.
But “not terribly hot” on Friday, said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
No rain is expected Friday.
“As far as rain chances are a concern, we’re good for today,” Ritter said. “Now, tomorrow — a different story.”
Thunderstorms will likely sweep through the area “before the sun comes up,” making their way out by midday Saturday in time for a humid afternoon. Highs Saturday will be in the upper 80s.
“But I have to stress: The humidity will make it feel significantly warmer,” Ritter said.
Next week, highs are expected to rise above 90 degrees starting Monday and may reach 96 by Tuesday.
“As we settle into next week, here comes the heat,” she said.
