Heat a guarantee, small storms a possibility Monday in the Kansas City metro
A pattern of heat and humidity will continue this week in Kansas City, said Fox4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
The high temperatures are expected to reach into the low 90s Monday.
“It’ll feel hotter than that though, and with the heat and the humidity combined together, we may have a few pop-up cells later this afternoon,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
She said some isolated storms are possible between the lunch hour and into the early evening on both sides of the state line.
“They’ll be hit or miss, they’ll be brief, they’ll develop then they’ll fizzle out,” she said.
Skies should be clear again by about 7 p.m. Monday with an overnight low near 70.
Tuesday will be much like Monday: Mostly clear skies with some risk of pop-up daytime storms fueled by the heat, Ritter said.
The high temperatures across the week are expected to hover between 91 and 93, with the exception of Thursday, when temperatures may cool ever so slightly to about 88 degrees as thunderstorms set in.
Overnight lows throughout the week will remain in the low 70s.
