Cooler air moving into the Kansas City area, chance for rain overnight

A cold front is approaching the Kansas City area, and the chance for rain will be increasing overnight, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.

“This is a strong cold front. It’s going to get the 90s out of here, and it’s going to usher in much cooler air, much drier air,” Ritter said in a weather update to The Star.

After midnight Wednesday, there is a chance for rain and possibly thunderstorms.

A wind advisory will also be in effect beginning 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Wednesday’s forecast calls highs in the mid 70s. The day will start out cloudy but the clouds will start to clear out after noon.

“We’ll make a quick bounce back up into the 80s for the rest of the week, but the humidity should stay in check through at least Friday,” Ritter said.
