Cooler temperatures, rain expected later this week in the Kansas City area

Temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler in the Kansas City area on Wednesday and in the next few days, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high near 64.

There is also a chance for light rain early Wednesday morning, but in a weather update to The Star, Lauria says the best chance for rain in the area will come sometime Thursday afternoon.

“I don’t think we’re going to get a lot of rain out of this, but we may see anywhere from a quarter to perhaps a half an inch of rain,” Lauria said. The rain is expected to continue into the evening hours Thursday, he said. Temperatures may be in the 50s then.

Friday will be sunny with temperatures around 60.

The meteorologist said residents should also be aware of cold temperatures on Saturday morning, which may be as low as 36.
