Temperatures will be around 80 Saturday in Kansas City area, chance for rain later

The weekend forecast in Kansas City calls for warm temperatures and a slight chance for rain and thunderstorms later, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

Temperatures Saturday will be at or around 80 degrees in the Kansas City area. A trough is expected to move into the area during the day and the wind will pick up out of the northeast.

There is about a 30% chance for rain overnight into early Sunday morning, Lauria said. Rainfall amounts could vary. A half inch of rain or higher amounts are possible if there are thunderstorms.

Sunday’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high temperature of 75.
