Rain and warm weather in forecast for Kansas City this week
With rain clearing up Sunday afternoon and temperatures reaching a high of 65 degrees, the long-range forecast for the Kansas City area called for more warm temperatures and more chances for rain this week, according to FOX4 meteorologist Alex Countee.
On Sunday chances for rain were expected to diminish after the morning, and there would be nothing to see by lunchtime, said Countee, who provides weather updates to The Star.
Monday may bring a chance for a round of showers about 9 a.m. and a high temperature of 68. The rain may move through downtown Kansas City and into the north before fizzling out to the east.
Sunny weather is expected Tuesday, with a high of 69, Countee said.
“That’s going to be the best one to get outside and enjoy before we see a better chance for widespread rain,” he said. “Can’t rule out thunderstorms on Wednesday, and potentially to wrap up the work week.”
The forecast calls for a chance of rain on Wednesday with a high of 70 degrees. Friday and Saturday also bring chances for rain, with high temperatures in the upper 60s.
