Cold weather moves out of Kansas City area Friday before weekend warms up
Kansas City temperatures will remain cold throughout the day on Friday before warming up into the 60s over the weekend, according to Fox 4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
A wintry mix of snow and rain should be gone by mid-morning at the latest on the south side of the metro area, said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.
Parts of northern Missouri on Thursday reported between 4 to 7 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
“It’s going to be a cold day again today as we get this latest round of for some of you winter weather out of here,” Ritter said.
By Friday afternoon, temperatures should rise up to 47 degrees as sunshine begins to poke out.

The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
Overnight, it will stay clear as temperatures drop close to freezing again, Ritter said.
“But the recovery is going to be so nice,” Ritter said, “heading into the weekend as our afternoon highs climb back into the 60s.”
