Tuesday’s temps to be 10 degrees below normal, but KC’s weather to warm up by weekend
Tuesday’s temperature will be colder than normal, but it likely won’t break any records, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.
“The more clouds we have overnight tonight, the better chance that we will not break a record low temperature for tomorrow — the clouds kind of act like a little insulating blanket,” said Lauria, who provided a weather update for The Star.
That record low was set in 1928 when the temperature dropped to 25 degrees.
“Right now I don’t think we’re going to get there,” Lauria said.
Tuesday will bring a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures running about 10 degrees below average for this time of year.
Lauria said he can’t rule out the chance for some isolated sprinkles.
“The better chance of rain comes our way as we head towards Thursday into Friday and this could be a cold, nuisance-y type of rain, especially Thursday afternoon into Thursday night,” he said.
Things will start to dry out Friday.
“That will set the stage for a pretty decent weekend,” Lauria said.
The high on Saturday and Sunday is 60.
“On Monday we start to warm up with temperatures heading back up to near 70,” he said.
