Scattered showers in Thursday forecast for KC. More rain expected Friday

Cloudy skies, scattered showers and windy conditions are in the forecast for Thursday in the Kansas City area, and the region could see more rain on Friday, FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria said in a weather update to The Star.

The clouds will start rolling into the area Thursday, but Lauria says he expects to see some breaks in the clouds and enough wind to maintain warm temperatures. Temperatures are expected to be near 70 Thursday afternoon.

There is a chance for rain in parts of the Kansas City area from the morning hours through lunchtime Thursday, according to the forecast.

Wind gusts may reach 20 to 30 mph.

“The clouds may tend to knock the winds down just a little bit tomorrow afternoon, but we’re still looking at around 20 mph winds, if not maybe a little bit more than that,” Lauria said.

A cold front will move in Friday morning, which is expected to cause temperatures to drop to the upper 30s or low 40s. There is another chance for rain Friday.

“Not a good day,” Lauria added. “Windy, rainy, nasty day coming for Friday.”

No severe weather is expected in the next few days.
