After spring-like temperatures, Kansas City region will see cold rain on Sunday

After a taste of spring-like weather this week, temperatures are dropping and a chilly rain will soon move into the Kansas City region, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.

“After a cold change to our forecast this morning, we’re going to see some sunshine but it is not going to warm up this afternoon,” said Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star.

With early morning temperatures in the 30s, temperatures could rise to about 40 degrees on Friday, Ritter said.

Temperatures will drop into the 20s across the area Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service, before warming up into the upper 40s. On Sunday, a chilly rain moves into the region, the weather service said.

“It is going to be a cold rain that potentially could be a wintry mix for some of our neighbors just off to the north,” Ritter said.

That rain, she said, will enter the area Sunday morning and linger into the afternoon.

Next week, more active weather patterns will be in the region, Ritter said. However, the forecast will warm up with more spring-like temperatures.
