‘Not a nice day’: Colder temps, mix of rain and snow possible Saturday in KC area

The Kansas City area may see a mix of rain and snow early this weekend as a storm moves through northern Missouri, according to FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

From late Friday night into Saturday morning, there is a chance for rain, but during the early-morning hours, Lauria says there may be some ice pellets mixing in and maybe a few snowflakes around the metro.

Little to no snow accumulation is expected in the Kansas City area. Missouri residents up near the Iowa border may see snow stick to grassy and elevated surfaces.

Light rain is expected during the afternoon Saturday. The high temperature will be around 39 degrees, according to the forecast.

“Not a nice day. Blustery, cold, wind chill factors in the upper 20s,” Lauria said.

Sunday will be in the upper 40s, and then temperatures will be in the 50s on Monday.
