Colder weather arriving in KC. Mix of rain and snow possible early in the weekend

Colder weather is moving into the Kansas City area overnight and a few showers may develop later Friday and during the weekend, said FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.

Friday’s forecast calls for cloudy skies and a high of 51. The best chance for rain appears to be late Friday night, Lauria said in a weather update to The Star.

“Depending on how much the atmosphere cools down, we may see a switch over to some snow or at least some rain-snow mix sometime early Saturday morning before daybreak,” Lauria said.

Little to no snow accumulation is expected in Kansas City.

Saturday will likely be rainy and blustery with temperatures in the upper 30s or low 40s.

“Not a good day on Saturday. I’m hopeful that we’ll start to dry out a little bit during the afternoon,” Lauria said.
