Rain, thunderstorms possible Thursday in the Kansas City area
The weather in Kansas City is expected to remain mild now through Thursday morning, but storms may be moving through the area in the afternoon, said FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria.
There is a chance for rain — possibly thunderstorms — before or around lunch time Thursday, Lauria said in a weather update to The Star. Temperatures are expected to be in the 60s, though it may warm up more if the area doesn’t get the rain.
The next big change in the weather comes late Friday night into Saturday morning when the temperatures drop.
“Depending on how much cold air is around, we may even see some flakes of snow from around the metro, all the way up toward the Iowa border,” Lauria said. “I think the better chances are better north of Kansas City. Right now, I’m not expecting accumulations.”
Snow or no snow, Lauria said the forecast “does not look good right now” for Saturday with temperatures in the 30s, rain and wind in Kansas City.
“Sunday looks to be the better of the two weekend days,” he said.
