Rain expected Sunday, then a cold front in the Kansas City area, forecast says
Temperatures warmed up Saturday and will continue to increase in the overnight hours but a cold front later Sunday will bring cooler weather to the Kansas City area by Sunday evening, according to FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.
Sunday will start off cloudy with temperatures in the upper 30s or low 40s. The high temperature for the day is expected to reach 47.
There is a chance for rain in the morning, possibly between 6 and 9 a.m., Frank said. No hazardous weather is expected.
The rain is expected to move off toward the southeast in the afternoon as a cold front moves in and causes temperatures to drop to the mid 20s by Sunday night.
The next chance for wintry precipitation could be Wednesday, when the Kansas City area may see a mix of rain and snow.
“This doesn’t look to be a high impact system, but we’ll keep a close eye on it for the rest of the week,” Frank said.
