Looking forward to a sunny Saturday? It won’t last the weekend

Kansas Citians should expect a soggy Sunday this weekend, FOX4 meteorologist Michelle Bogowith said.

But at least before then, the area will see some sunshine, said Bogowith, who provides weather updates to The Star.

Temperatures should reach a high of 37 degrees on Friday, she said.

And while the sun may poke out throughout the day, Bogowith said to not “expect to see a ton of sunshine.”

On Saturday, the sun will be out and temperatures should reach a high of 44 degrees.

Rain moves into the region Sunday morning.

How we did this story

The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.

“Most of those rain chances will be with us for the first half of your Sunday,” Bogowith said. “(It will be) pretty soggy at times.”

The National Weather Service reports a 30 percent chance of rain and highs of 48 degrees that day.

Bogowith said the rain will move out early Sunday afternoon as drier and cooler conditions move in to start the week.

Another weather system moves into the Kansas City metro Wednesday night into Thursday.
