Light snow is possible Friday, but sunshine will return to Kansas City — briefly
Light snow is possible in some areas of the Kansas City metro on Friday, but soon temperatures will be above freezing, according to FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter.
Friday temperatures should reach up to 37 degrees, said Ritter, who provides weather updates for The Star.
According to the National Weather Service, light snow will be possible across northern Missouri. Any accumulations, the weather service said, would be minor and less than an inch.
Ritter said that snow is mostly possible Friday morning.
“As far as any additional rain or snow is concerned, the rest of the evening looks dry,” Ritter said.
BEHIND THE STORY
MOREHow we did this story
The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
Saturday, temperatures will be in the low 40s and the sun should be out.
The clear skies won’t last long.
“Tomorrow looks really nice,” Ritter said. “We’ll have mid 40s on Sunday but we’ll have rain chances returning to finish out our weekend.”
The weather service said Kansas City has received about an inch more of rain in 2020 than 2019 by this time.
