Thousands will have to brave wind chills in the teens Wednesday as they descend on Kansas City to celebrate the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory.

During the parade, revelers can expect to see bands of light snow that will continue off-and-on, said FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria, who provided a weather update to The Star.

“I would expect snow to be developing as the morning goes along tomorrow,” Lauria said. “This will not be a big snow storm for us for tomorrow, but it could be enough to slicken up the roads, whether you’re coming to the parade or especially after the parade.”

A dusting to two inches of snow will fall around Kansas City. One to three inches may fall in areas to the south and east.

The other issue is the wind which will make it feel like it’s about 15 degrees.

“It’ll be coming straight from the north and that’ll be funneling down Grand Street,” Lauria said. “It’s going to be very, very cold.”

The temperatures stay chilly Thursday, but will increase as the weekend nears.
