With KC temperatures in the 60s on Super Bowl Sunday, it’ll feel like being in Miami
The Kansas City area has enjoyed some sunshine and increased temperatures this weekend, and it’s only going to get warmer Sunday, said FOX4 meteorologist Garry Frank.
For those in Miami for Super Bowl LIV, the high temperature will be 69 degrees on Sunday. While many fans here may be missing out on seeing the Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in sunny Florida, they won’t be missing out on the heat.
Sunday’s forecast calls for a high of 66 degrees in Kansas City, and a few places southwest of Kansas City may reach 70, Frank said in a weather update to The Star.
The warmth will stick around until Monday night when temperatures are expected to drop back down to the low 30s or upper 20s.
There is a chance on Tuesday for a wintry mix of precipitation in the area, including freezing rain and snow.
“I think we’re going to deal with a little bit of everything on Tuesday into Wednesday,” Frank said. “Right now, it looks relatively light. This is not a big snow storm, but it is going to be a mess, and any timing for this is going to be in the morning Tuesday as it looks right now.”
“Let’s enjoy the warmth until then.”
