Snow possible overnight in KC area. Areas south of region under winter weather advisory
FOX4 meteorologist Joe Lauria says he is expecting some light snow — “maybe a dusting” — overnight in the Kansas City area.
A storm is moving toward areas north of Kansas City, but Lauria said it will probably weaken as it comes closer.
“It’s going to take a while to get here, and it may not happen until after midnight tonight, and even when it does move through, it’s falling apart, so I’m not expecting much out of this,” Lauria said. “Maybe just a little skiff of snow, a little dusting in a couple of areas, but that’s about it.”
Areas south of the region, including Lake of the Ozarks, may see about an inch of snow or more. Parts of southeast Kansas as well as central, east-central, south-central, southwest and west-central Missouri are under a winter weather advisory, according to the National Weather Service in Springfield.
Wednesday’s forecast calls for cloudy skies and temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees during the afternoon.
Warmer temperatures are expected this weekend and could reach as high as 65 degrees on Sunday, according to the forecast.
