After a warm Christmas, new weather system will bring cold and possible precipitation

The weather forecast Monday morning in Kansas City called for relatively warm temperatures throughout the week until another weather system brings cold and possible precipitation over the weekend.

The high temperature Monday will reach 58 degrees, according to FOX4 meteorologist Michelle Bogowith, who provides weather updates to The Star. Temperatures may reach 60 degrees on Tuesday and 61 degrees on Wednesday.

That will make Wednesday “one of the warmest Christmases we’ve seen in years,” Bogowith said. Holiday travel, she said, should be “a piece of cake.”

Later in the week, the weather is likely to cool down. After a high of 50 degrees Thursday, temperatures will drop to the 40s heading into the weekend.

A new weather system moving into the area Saturday and Sunday will bring another chance for precipitation.
