Highs to climb into upper 50s in Kansas City, but colder temps, possibly snow, loom
Kansas City’s unseasonably warm weather will continue Wednesday as temperatures are expected to climb near 60 degrees in the afternoon.
“Later on today, we are going to see mid- and upper 50s for our afternoon highs,” said FOX4 meteorologist Karli Ritter, who provides weather updates to The Star. “We’ll have just a little bit of cloud cover around and overall it looks really nice.”
In the evening, skies could become partly cloudy and will become more overcast by Thursday morning. Highs are once again expected to be in the mid- to upper 50s, Ritter said.
“Into Thursday afternoon and evening, some of you will have some rain to contend with, especially east and southeast of the metro,” Ritter said. “But the metro should stay mainly dry.”
BEHIND THE STORY
MOREHow we did this story
The Star produced this weather update in partnership with the local FOX4 television station. The station’s meteorologists create forecast videos multiple times a day for the newspaper to include in its weather reports.
A brief shot of cold air arrives Friday, sending temperatures into the lower 40s, which is the normal high for this time of year, she said.
Temperatures will climb back into the mid- to upper 50s Saturday and Sunday.
“And then a reality check arrives next week with temperatures falling and maybe some snow chances showing back up,” Ritter said.
